Yurt and woodland stays near the Eden Project.
Looking for a yurt stay near the Eden Project? At Ennal’s Pool in Trethurgy, Cornwall, Kingfisher’s Perch is tucked into woodland above a 2.5-acre private lake. We also offer a vintage canvas tent among the trees and simple bring-your-own tent or hammock camping. Couples, families and nature-minded visitors can enjoy a much quieter alternative to a hotel.
This is not a polished resort or conventional holiday park. It is a real wildlife and restoration site in Cornwall’s old china-clay landscape, with water, woodland, uneven paths and wildlife around you from the moment you arrive.
Free kayak use is included for all staying guests. Ennal’s Pool has kayaks available for guests to use on the lake at no extra charge.

Bring your own tent or hammock
For people who want things simpler, there are woodland spots for small tents and excellent trees for hammock camping. The ground is naturally uneven in places, so this suits campers who are happy to find their own small corner among the trees rather than expecting a level formal pitch.
Stay close to the Eden Project, without staying in a hotel
Ennal’s Pool is at Trethurgy, near St Austell, in the same clay-country landscape as the Eden Project. The setting is the difference: guests stay among woodland beside a former china-clay lake that is now rich in wildlife.
The Eden Project is an obvious reason to stay here, but the Clay Trails are an even more direct part of the experience: the public walking and cycling route runs straight through our 16-acre woodland site at Trethurgy. St Austell Bay, Charlestown, Par and the wider south Cornwall coast are also within reach.

Close to Eden
A genuinely local stay in the Trethurgy and St Austell area, rather than accommodation elsewhere in Cornwall simply using Eden as a nearby attraction.
Wildlife setting
Kingfishers, herons, dragonflies and woodland wildlife are part of the character of the site, with paths and viewpoints around the water.
Small and quiet
Only a small number of guests stay at Ennal’s Pool at any one time. It is deliberately not run as a busy holiday park.
Kayaks included
Guests staying in the yurt, Vintage Tent or woodland camping can use the site kayaks on the lake free of charge.
Authentic nature stays in Cornwall
Ennal’s Pool is for people who want the place they stay to be part of the trip. The accommodation is comfortable where comfort matters, but the woodland and lake are not dressed up to imitate wilderness. It is an evolving outdoor place with wildlife, ongoing habitat work and the character of the old clay landscape still visible.
Families can use the lake and woodland as a base for days around the Eden Project and St Austell Bay. Couples can keep things simpler with a quiet night among the trees, a walk through the clay landscape and time by the water. Tent and hammock campers can go simpler still.
Weekend breaks in Cornwall
The yurt and vintage tent work well for two or three nights when the aim is to get outdoors and still have the Eden Project and south Cornwall within easy reach.
Family holidays and short breaks
Kingfisher’s Perch has flexible family sleeping space and gives children a much stronger sense of being in the landscape than a conventional hotel room.
Unusual stays
A yurt, vintage canvas tent and low-key woodland camping beside a former china-clay lake make Ennal’s Pool genuinely distinctive without trying to turn it into a themed resort.
Wildlife and nature stays
The lake and woodland are home to kingfishers, herons, dragonflies and other wildlife, with restoration work forming part of the wider Ennal’s Pool story.
