A woodland yurt near the Eden Project, beside a Cornish lake.
Kingfisher’s Perch sits in its own secluded woodland clearing above Ennal’s Pool, a 2.5-acre private lake near St Austell and the Eden Project. It is a comfortable but deliberately natural stay: proper beds, power, a hot outdoor shower and space to disappear into the woods for a few days.
For couples seeking a peaceful escape, nature lovers visiting the Eden Project or families looking for an unusual weekend in Cornwall, the setting is the main attraction: woodland, water and wildlife around you from the moment you arrive.
Kayaks are included with the stay. Guests can use the Ennal’s Pool kayaks on the lake at no extra charge.

Woodland yurt accommodation for couples and families
Inside is a double bed, timber floor, rugs, seating, storage, a fridge and simple cooking facilities. For children, two mattresses pull out from beneath the double bed and a further camp bed can be provided, with bedding for all guests. During the day the extra beds can be packed away to give the yurt back its living space.
The yurt has full 240V electricity and the woodland route outside is lit with low-level sensor lighting after dark.
Outside
Your own hot outdoor shower sits among the trees, with a private compost loo, woodland seating, hammocks and a firepit nearby.
The wider site
Guests are encouraged to explore the paths, viewpoints and quieter corners around the lake and woodland rather than staying within a formal pitch.
Wildlife
Kingfishers and herons are regular visitors, with dragonflies, woodland birds and other wildlife around the water and margins.
Kayaks
Use of the site kayaks on the lake is free for staying guests.
More of the setting

A natural site, not a manicured campsite
Ennal’s Pool is intentionally wild around the edges. Paths can be uneven, woodland is allowed to feel like woodland and parts of the wider site continue to evolve. The yurt itself is tucked away from the work and the emphasis is on peace, space and being close to the lake.
Staying near the Eden Project
Our yurt is at Trethurgy in Cornwall, in the same former china-clay landscape as the Eden Project. Ennals Pool is directly on the Clay Trails, with the shared public walking and cycling route passing through our woodland site. The trail connects into the wider Eden Project and St Austell area, making a walk or ride part of a longer stay. Check the official maps and route conditions before setting out.
Unlike an ordinary hotel stop, a visit here gives you time for a morning among the trees, wildlife watching by the water and a slower evening back in your own woodland clearing. The Clay Trails, St Austell Bay and Charlestown make good additions to an Eden visit.

No. You can check the availability calendar and send a direct enquiry for a price, or book through our Airbnb listing if you prefer.
Arrival and access
A private track leads around 500 metres from the road into the site. Parking is provided on site, followed by a short woodland walk to the yurt. We normally meet guests on arrival and help them settle in.
Who enjoys staying here?
Kingfisher’s Perch suits couples looking to slow down among trees and water, visitors planning a day at the Eden Project and families keen to explore the woodland. Expect birdsong, lake views and simple comforts rather than a hotel or party campsite.
It can work equally well as a family holiday base near the Eden Project, a two-night wildlife break in the South West or a quieter stop as part of a longer Cornwall trip.
