Vintage Tent · Cornwall

Vintage canvas overlooking the lake.

The Vintage Tent sits on a raised woodland ledge overlooking Ennal’s Pool, tucked among the trees and around 150 metres from the main arrival area. It is a simple, characterful stay for people who want the lake, birdsong and woodland more than hotel polish.

It is particularly suited to couples or small families looking for an unusual stay in Cornwall, a nature break in the South West or a distinctive weekend away close to the Eden Project.

Kayaks are included with the stay. Guests can use the Ennal’s Pool kayaks on the lake at no extra charge.

The tent

The vintage Cabanon tent has a comfortable double bed and additional sleeping space for up to two children. Outside is a private seating area with simple camping-style cooking facilities.

A compost loo is nearby. Lighting and USB charging come from the site’s off-grid solar system, keeping the set-up deliberately straightforward.

Lake view

The tent is positioned on its own wooded ledge with views across the water and a strong sense of separation from the main arrival area.

Walk in

From parking, the tent is reached by roughly a 150-metre walk around the lake. The path is part of the experience rather than a hotel-style approach.

Wildlife

Kingfishers are regularly seen around the lake, alongside herons, dragonflies, woodland birds and other wildlife.

Kayaks

Use of the site kayaks on the lake is free for staying guests.

More of the setting

Simple, secluded and intentionally off-grid

This is closer to a very comfortable wild-camping experience than conventional accommodation. Expect trees, changing weather, birds and the ordinary sounds of the countryside. The wider site is still evolving, so there can be signs of work elsewhere during the day.

Good to know: paths and ground can be uneven. The lake is deep with steep margins in places, so children need supervision around the water.

Who it suits

The Vintage Tent is particularly good for couples, small families and people who value privacy and a strong connection to the landscape. It is deliberately uncomplicated and is not intended as a party pitch or a conventional campsite stay.

For people searching for unique stays in Cornwall, unusual breaks, wildlife accommodation or a simple weekend close to Eden, this is the more off-grid of the two Ennal’s Pool options.
