Original illustrated design sheet for the floating solar pump platform, showing the timber frame, solar panels, floats, controller position, pump basket and dimensions
The original GPT-assisted design sheet used to plan the floating solar pump platform.

This illustrated plan provided the starting point for the build, setting out the timber frame, panel angle, float positions and suspended pump basket.

The project began as straightforward woodwork on dry land: a timber frame, floats, pump, pipework and a roof-like mounting surface for the solar panels. Once launched, the pump could circulate water and throw it through the spray bar without drawing power from the site supply.

A trout near the oxygenated water

The short clip is muted. A trout can be seen rising in the area affected by the spray.

During an early run, a trout rose into the water being mixed by the oxygenator and was caught on camera.

Over the past year the lake has shown a visible improvement in clarity and general condition. The oxygenator now forms part of the wider water and habitat work.
